A Mississippi State Trooper got caught doing the same thing, and was ordered to take a Constitutional Law Class by a judge. He was targeting the guy because he made FB posts about him, and said so on his own body cam. Videos of it are on Lackluster.

I don’t recommend flipping off a cop, but that doesn’t excuse their behavior, and alleged ‘ignorance’ of the 1st Amendment.

Big issue here is that the fine was paid by the taxpayers. This should have come out of his pension or the police officers should be self insured so that they pay for these acts. We've investigated ourselves and found that we did nothing wrong, said virtually every police department in America.

You can tell that by the way this officer spoke to this very grown man that this officer believes his job in uniform affords him to punish people for him not liking how they act towards him. That officer knew what the original middle finger was for..... His ego was trying to make the gentleman back down..... Then when the officer got the word and the bird a second time.... His ego could not let it go and he thought he was going to teach this guy a lesson.

Why did it take 6 years to come to the conclusion that what he did was illegal when you know right away what this officer did was illegal? The victim did not get his rights to a fair and switch trial. I bet the only reason they're doing anything now is because he wouldn't let it go.

If you think this ruling is ok, lets talk about a Biden example: say that there are records that come out that prove Biden pressured the DOJ to prosecute Trump so that he could win the election. According to this ruling, Biden would be immune from prosecution for that. Its exactly the same as Trump pressuring the DOJ to lie about election fraud, which the SC has clearly stated they believe should be immune from prosecution. Are you saying you are ok with this? That Biden should be immune if him forcing the DOJ/FBI to prosecute Trump is proven to be the case?
